Hyundai crowned 2019 world champion constructor (WRC) following the cancellation of Rally Australia
As Official Timekeeper for the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), ANONIMO would like to congratulate the Hyundai team on winning the 2019 constructors' world championship.
Following the cancellation of Rally Australia – the last meeting of the season – due to the devastating bushfires currently affecting New South Wales, Hyundai has won the 2019 world constructors' championship. The team has notched up a total of four victories this season: the Tour de Corse, Rally Argentina, Rally Italia Sardegna and Rally de España, giving the constructor an 18-point lead over Toyota. Hyundai has been chasing the coveted title since its return to the WRC in 2014, and the win marks the end of a six-year battle to secure the top spot on the podium.
Hyundai team driver Thierry Neuville said: "It's been a very special journey for us, and it's a pleasure to now be able to call our team FIA World Rally Champions. We have had so many great experiences along the way; each victory has been important but, aside from the results, the team has matured so much over six seasons."
The constructors' title is the payoff for some serious and determined teamwork, with each and every member playing an essential role in the team's success. It's thanks to those working behind the scenes that the WRC adventure was even possible. The title recognises the efforts of these passionate individuals committed to collaboration and driven by a strong team spirit. ANONIMO would like to congratulate the Hyundai team on winning the 2019 title.
