Ott Tanäk crowned WRC World Rally Champion 2019 - A historic victory

ANONIMO warmly congratulates the new World Rally Champion, Ott Tanäk. Following his victory in the RallyRACC Catalunya – España, the Estonian has secured the top step of the podium with an unassailable lead as drivers prepare for the Kennards Hire Rally Australia, the last event of the season.

Ott Tanäk puts an end to 15 years of French dominance in the form of world champions Sebastien Loeb (2004 to 2012) and Sébastien Ogier (2013 to 2018). The ascent that led to this victory has not always been smooth…

Ott Tanäk made his rally début at the tender age of 17, in the Estonian national championship. In 2011, he joined the WRC, but erratic results saw him return to the Estonian national championship in 2013. However, this lack of consistency was not for lack of ambition or drive. He worked hard, returning to the WRC the following season. In 2017, he won the first WRC rally of his career in Sardinia. This victory marked the start of a long series that would eventually culminate in this year's top spot. Now, at the age of 32, he has finally achieved his dream of becoming world champion. A story of true courage, grit and passion.

Since 2018, ANONIMO has been the Official Timekeeper for the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). The watch brand has unveiled a special edition of its MILITARE chronograph bearing the colours of this unique international competition. Its reliability, robustness and accuracy make this watch the perfect model for the WRC adventure.
